It is water-resistant: small spills bead first instead of soaking straight in. It is not a waterproof membrane.

Does it cover the whole sofa?

Yes: it is one large cloth that drapes over the entire sofa, arms included. Tuck it into the seat crease for a neat fit.

Which size do I need

Measure over the sofa: run a tape from the floor at the front, up over the seat and backrest, down to the floor at the back; that is the length you need.
Pick the closest length; a little extra drapes onto the floor, a little less sits higher.
Coverage: one piece drapes the whole sofa, arms included; tuck it into the seat crease so it stays neat.
